Choose the situation that best matches how your vehicle is driven, stored or prepared.
Supercars and sports cars often combine powerful starting requirements with advanced onboard electronics and long periods between drives. Match the charger to the installed battery's voltage and chemistry, then use automatic maintenance to keep the battery ready without applying continuous uncontrolled charging.
Race cars may receive limited alternator output at low speed or use a total-loss electrical system with no alternator. Begin each session with a fully charged battery and choose a racing charger that matches the 12V or 16V system and its AGM or LiFePO4 chemistry.
Collector and seasonal vehicles may remain parked for weeks or months while alarms, trackers and other electronics draw power. An OptiMate with 24/7 maintenance monitors the battery after charging and provides additional maintenance only when the battery needs it.
Race teams and performance workshops may service several battery chemistries and voltages. OptiMate Select models simplify mixed lead-acid and lithium work, while compatible power-supply, Service and TUNE modes can support vehicle setup, troubleshooting and ECU programming with the engine off.
Start with the battery label and confirm its nominal voltage, chemistry and capacity. Then choose the required charging speed and whether you need maintenance, low-voltage recovery, BMS reset, fixed-voltage support or a dedicated racing program.
Yes. Compatible OptiMate chargers are designed to complete charging and then provide automatic long-term maintenance. Always choose a program that matches the installed battery's voltage and chemistry, particularly when maintaining a LiFePO4 battery.
Use an OptiMate charger with a LiFePO4 program matching the battery's nominal voltage. Do not use a lead-acid-only charging program unless the battery manufacturer explicitly approves it.
Selected OptiMate chargers can begin recovery from batteries discharged as low as 0.5V, and compatible lithium models can reset a protective BMS. Recovery still depends on battery condition and cannot reverse permanent internal damage.
The OptiMate G10 supports compatible 16V AGM and 16V LiFePO4 racing batteries, while OptiMate Lithium LFP Select supports 16V LiFePO4 batteries. Confirm the exact battery chemistry and select the corresponding 16V program before connecting.
On the OptiMate G10, FASTCHARGE prioritizes maximum charging output for race preparation. The selectable DIAGNOSTIC program is intended for deeply discharged or smaller batteries and uses Ampmatic control to adjust current according to battery condition and size.
Selected OptiMate models provide fixed-voltage power-supply, Service or TUNE modes for battery support during troubleshooting, vehicle setup or ECU programming with the engine off. Confirm the required support voltage and follow the vehicle and charger instructions.
Send TecMate USA your battery voltage, chemistry, capacity and vehicle use, and we will help you compare compatible OptiMate chargers.
