How do I use it?

  1. Connect to your battery

    Connect using the installed fused eyelet lead or supplied battery clamps, following the manual’s connection instructions.

  2. Plug into power

    Plug the charger into an AC outlet. Charging starts automatically—no buttons or settings to select.

  3. Charge and maintain

    The charger will automatically charge and test your battery, then switch to maintenance to keep it ready between rides.

Before you buy

Will it work with my battery?

It will work with compatible 12V lead-acid batteries, including STD / flooded, AGM and GEL. It is not designed for lithium batteries.

Can it recover a dead battery?

It can help recover deeply discharged, sulphated batteries. Recovery depends on the battery’s condition; a permanently damaged battery may need replacement.

Can I leave it connected during storage?

Yes. After charging and testing, the charger automatically maintains the battery. Check battery condition periodically as directed in the manual.

With 0.8 Amps of constant charging current, it is designed for standard flooded, wet-cell, sealed AGM, and GEL batteries from 2.5–38Ah. Suitable applications include street motorcycles, cruisers, adventure motorcycles, dirt bikes, motocross bikes, scooters, ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides, personal watercraft, snowmobiles, and lawn and garden equipment fitted with batteries within these specifications. Compatible applications include eligible models from Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Harley-Davidson, Indian, BMW Motorrad, Triumph, Ducati, KTM, Husqvarna, Aprilia, Vespa, Polaris, Can-Am, Sea-Doo, Ski-Doo, Arctic Cat, John Deere, Kubota, and Toro, when equipped with a suitable 12V lead-acid battery. Its intelligent, fully automatic charging program takes the guesswork out of battery care—simply connect directly to the battery using the supplied clamps or fused battery lead and let OptiMate do the rest. The 2-step SAVE program combines smart desulphation with pulse recovery charging to help recover deeply discharged batteries and restore their ability to accept a charge. After charging, OptiMate tests the battery and switches to its proven 24-7 “connect & forget” maintenance program, helping protect against overcharging while keeping your battery ready through winter storage and extended periods of inactivity. Designed for sensitive vehicle electronics, it includes reverse-polarity protection, spark suppression, and short-circuit protection. Its fully sealed, weatherproof housing supports indoor and outdoor use, while efficient power conversion and standby consumption below 0.5W help keep electricity use low.
